We are working on a few things around our house with the girls.
1. Is that we are very blessed for the things that we have and that giving and sharing with others who don't have as much as we do makes us feels really good.
2. Is the "I wants" (ie. toys) in life are not just given to us but need to be worked for.
That's how I came up with the "It Feels Good to Share, It Feels Good to Care" jars (sounds like a Yo Gabba Gabba song doesn't it? LOL)
Every time that LL helps me pick up her toys, helps with the baby, does what I ask she will get two quarters: 1 for her "Toy" jar & 1 for her "It Feels good to Share" jar.
In December she gets to go to Toy R Us pick out toys for herself (that she has earned) and she will get to pick out toys to give away to a child in need for Christmas.
She is totally into it. She has picked up her play room twice in two days...It's AWESOME :)
I made these labels in photoshop. Printed them on sticker paper, backed them with thick colored paper for a little pop. Tied a ribbon around the jar to make it a little more fun.
You can download labels here.
It Feels Good to Share Label.
Plain Christmas Label.
I got the jars at good ol' Walmart. The labels are circular 3.5 x3.5
I also made a plain Christmas ones that could be used for all sorts of stuff like gift tags, place settings etc.
Happy Sharing.
