Sweet Berry Pie Recipe.

Sunday, October 17, 2010

Walt came home with lots of fresh blueberries and raspberries yesterday so I made a Berry Pie.
Here's What You Need
2.5 Cups Fresh Blueberries
1Cup Canned Blueberries
1.5 Cups Fresh Raspberries
2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
3/4 Cup Sugar
1/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 Teaspoon of Vanilla
2 Tablespoons Melted Butter
1 pie shell (you can make your own)

For Crust
2 Cups of Flour
1/2 Cup of Sugar
1/2 Cup of Melted Butter

Here's How You Do It
Combine all berries, lemon juice, sugar,
cinnamon and butter together in a bowl.
Stir well and then pour into pie shell.

Combine flour, sugar and butter and
knead together with hands. Place on top on fruit.  It should be
crumbly (not sure if this is a word...but its a good description ;)
Put in freezer for about 15 mins to set.

Pre-Heat to 425 degrees. Bake for 10 mins.
Reduce to 350 and bake for approx. 20 mins.  Watch to make sure doesn't burn.
Side Note: The pie gets very watery.  I slit a little hole in the side to drain some out before I served.
