Loving me some "Love Me Some Jesus"

Friday, November 18, 2011

I have a new favorite store its called The Old Try.  It is a couple that grew up in the south and now live in Boston. I love these prints so much because I can relate to so many of the descriptions of their work...

Like this one....I have been to New Orleans many of times and have had many a late nights there and their description of "Love Me Some Jesus"  just about sums it up....I ordered this for my house...

I had to say "Yes and No Ma'am"  and "Yes and No Sir"  to my parents all the way up until I got married...I can remember giving my mom attitude and
hearing my Dad saying all the way from upstairs "Yes Ma'am Laura!"
It changed my tone very quickly...
I did not order this one but should to put in our house to remind us to be respectful of one another...

I ordered this one because my Dad always says remember who you are and where you came from...
He always has good advise....
I love this one because my brother went to Ole Miss and if you ever have the chance to go for a football game you should...They have the most AMAZING tailgates ever. That is tough to say because I bleed Orange and Blue.  Go Gators!

(Hopefully they will do a Florida print one day because even though we get left off of the "Southern" category sometimes...we are considered DIXIE too!)

Go check out The Old Try's website and blog!
You are sure to fall in love!

Baked Whole Apples with Oatmeal...Plus Gluten Free

Thursday, November 17, 2011

Apples remind me of Fall...My mom use to make us baked apples (on the stove)  all the time growing up for dinner and I have always loved them.

I had this idea  but couldn't quite find the right recipe so I made this up and I think they turned out great . These would be a great side for Thanksgiving and the best thing is you could make them the day before and then cook the day of....

Kids Thanksgiving Table-Repost

Wednesday, November 16, 2011

I have received so many comments about this because it made Tip Junkie last year
(I'm so grateful) that I'm reposting.

This was one of the first set of printables I ever made ;)

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am so glad that it is November. I am not a huge Halloween person. I like the actual night but not a big fan of the decor (not that into the colors.)
So we are moving on to my favorite holiday THANKSGIVING!

The idea for this table was for the kids to have fun, entertain themselves
while making it cute and festive at the same time.

You can download all the printables free  for your Thanksgiving "Kids" Table.
I hope you like them ;)
What's Included:
Happy Turkey Day Banner
Invitations
Place Settings
Cones
Turkey Cut Outs

If you would like your place settings personalized please email me for pricing at info@lilyslaundryboutique.com

I used rolled paper as a the table cloth.
You can get at any art and craft store.
I got mine at Pottery Barn Kids.

Markers, beads, string and glue were all placed on the table so they could create before or after eating.

These cones are easy to make.  You can fill them with anything.
Cut them out from the template and glue the side without "Happy Thanksgiving" on it and attach to back of "Happy Thanksgiving" side. All done ;)
My little helper LOVES popcorn! XOXO
